Erasmus+ KA171 · Seeking partner universities for scientific exchange
We are seeking partner universities outside the European programme area to co-design an Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility proposal involving student and staff exchanges.
The current opportunity concerns developing a University of Trieste Erasmus+ KA171 proposal, not an already approved mobility grant or a public call for individual visiting researchers. The internal proposal deadline communicated by the lab is 9 October 2026; partner institutions should contact us as soon as possible.
The exchange proposal should be anchored to existing degree programmes at both universities. Appropriate areas include Global Change Ecology and Sustainability, biodiversity science, GIS, Earth observation, ecosystem restoration and quantitative ecology. Student mobility can be complemented by teaching and staff exchanges, joint methods training and work on collaborative field or environmental datasets.
Interested universities will be asked to complete the UniTS partner Information Sheet: legal identity, PIC and OID, academic and administrative contacts, programme complementarities, internationalisation strategy, recognition of mobility activities and visiting-student support. The final mobility mix and eligible countries depend on the selected regional funding envelope and UniTS procedures.
This announcement is an invitation to build institutional partnerships. Any funded mobilities would depend on subsequent approval by the Erasmus National Agency.
Who is this for?
Universities in eligible Erasmus+ KA171 partner countries with relevant biology, ecology, environmental science or geospatial programmes and institutional capacity to recognise mobility.
How to get in touch
Email Giovanni Bacaro with your institution’s name and country, PIC/OID (if available), academic contact, compatible teaching programmes and a brief proposed exchange. We will send the UniTS partner Information Sheet.
