Thesis research / Provisional title
Spectral characterisation and remote sensing of wetland habitats in the Lesotho Highlands
Research abstract
Building on a field survey-based classification of wetland habitats in the Lesotho Highlands, this thesis investigates their spectral characteristics to develop a remote sensing approach for habitat recognition and mapping. By integrating field observations with spectral information, the study aims to distinguish wetland habitat types and improve the spatial characterisation of these biodiversity-rich ecosystems. The resulting classification is intended to provide a basis for exploring potential habitat responses under future climate scenarios, with applications in wetland monitoring, conservation and environmental assessment.
